You CAN do it!

Welcome to the Nontrad News! This is our very first issue.

This newsletter will feature free links and help for all nontraditional students, who are going back to school after a break, or just thinking about it.

A little about me...

My name is Elizabeth Sheppard (Betsyanne). I live in Kentucky at The Garden Spot (near Bowling Green). I recently went back to college at Western Kentucky University and learned a lot.

One thing I learned is that nontraditional students need support, whether they are going back to get their GED, going to tech school, to college for the first time, or going to grad school.

I am so happy you signed up for the Nontrad News.

I plan to  bring you great links, news, and information about going back to school after a break. I also plan to give away plenty of free information and handy resources.

Please let me know what you would like to see in our future issues. And thank you so much for subscribing.

Encouragement

09/30/09
Elizabeth Sheppard

Do you have lots of encouragement to go back to school? Or are you just thinking about it, by yourself? It IS possible to go back to school without encouragement from others, but it is very nice if you do have it.

My husband and the rest of my family was very encouraging to me when I went back to school to get my teaching certification. I believe that this helped me do my best job while I was in school.

I hope that you have at least one person in your life who is encouraging. If you need encouragement and support to go back to school, there are several online groups that can help you.

You are very welcome to join us at the Yahoo Nontrads Group. The address there is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Non-trads/. There are many encouraging people there.

Also, you can now join fellow Nontraditional Students on Facebook. Here is that link:

What should I write about next for the next Nontrad News issue?

I need your vote on the new poll I just made.

Just go to the Why go back page at the Nontrads site and click on YOUR favorite idea.

That's all for now.
Have a GREAT rest of the week.

Nontraditionally yours,

Elizabeth Sheppard (Betsyanne)
