Here are some older links and information about Alaska Nontraditional Student support. There may still be some clues here to help you find help and support at your school. Please pardon any links that no longer work. They will soon be deleted or fixed this year (2015).

The University of Alaska at Fairbanks really takes care of its nontraditional students with special nontraditional student housing. They encourage them to stay on campus, and have a website explaining the benefits of single and family housing.

They know that many nontraditional students attend the college and write about that on this page too.

The University of Alaska campuses at Juneau, Ketchikan, and Sitka also welcome nontraditional students.

The University of Alaska at Anchorage has a special orientation for their nontraditional students.

Scholarships in Alaska for Nontraditional Students

The University of Alaska at Fairbanks has a new (2010) endowment for nontraditional students that provides up to $5,000 per year to 12 nontraditional students. From a newspaper article in the Anchorage Daily News: "The endowment will provide 12 nontraditional students up to $5,000 per year. Preference will be given to students between the ages of 25 and 50 who show academic promise and a commitment to obtaining bachelor's degrees."
