Southern
Vermont College is located in Bennington, Vermont.
The school offers credit for life experience and also offers auditing
when space permits. They help non-traditional students with an Adult
Student Services center, which is also open in the evenings. That
is a good idea. I also think auditing can be a great idea. My mother
audited art classes for a long time as an older student, and this
helped her because there was an art studio to use, and she could go
in on her schedule.

VSAC,
the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation, offers adult learners several
great links to help them decide what to take in college, and also
how to find the right college. The site helps you find the right college
for your major. They also talk about degree scams. I think I'll go
back to this site to read about that. It sounds like something
non-traditional students need to watch out for.
They also have a Steps to Success Page for nontraditional students, and a non-degree grant program.
The Consortium Vermont Colleges site has a page for nontraditional students too.
